Two summers ago I woke up one night drenched in sweat.
My mind went straight to the worst-case scenario.
Is this something serious? Cancer?
I freaked out.
That’s not what I expected to feel as a doctor.
And then it hit me.
This was my perimenopause beginning.
I’m a GP and a board-certified Lifestyle Medicine physician. I talk to women about menopause all the time.
I’ve supported women
through HRT,
through the decision not to take HRT,
through conditions that make it unsafe to even consider it.
And yet, in that moment, my own moment, I was scared.
That experience, and what I’ve seen again and again in my clinical practice, is what led me to create
Menopause with LifeStyle: a six-week online group programme for women in midlife who want a different way.
Because the truth is…
↳Some women are on HRT and still feel awful.
↳Some can’t have it due to cancer risk or other health reasons.
↳And some simply don’t want it – and feel lost because no one is offering them alternatives.
10-minute GP appointments don’t scratch the surface.
I always felt I was leaving women short-changed.
There’s so much I wanted to share – tools that are backed by evidence, habits that truly shift how you feel, conversations that matter.
Some women told me they came in feeling exhausted, invisible, even ashamed.
But they left with:
💖 Confidence
💖 Clarity
💖 A sense of control
💖 And, most importantly, connection
They realised they weren’t broken. They weren’t alone.
Menopause isn’t something to battle through.
With the right approach, it can be a powerful turning point.
