I don’t know about you, but January is not my favourite…

The days are still pretty dark… and it’s pretty cold outside…🥶

That is why I wanted to tell you about the importance of DAYLIGHT! 😃

Understanding the benefits of daylight exposure can be a game-changer for better sleep and overall health.

Here are my key takeaways:

1. Getting outside, especially in the morning, even on a cloudy day, stimulates the production of melatonin. This little hormone is the one that makes you sleepy before bed time.
So, having good optimal levels of melatonin will ensure your consistent sleep-wake cycle and help you achieve better sleep.

2. You know that constant fatigue, mood swings and brain fog that come with menopause?…
Guess what?
Daylight exposure has been linked to improved mood and increased energy levels…

3. And what about those nights sweats and hot flushes?
Again, exposure to natural light has been associated with a reduction in the frequency and severity of hot flashes and night sweats in menopausal women. This, in turn, can contribute to a more comfortable and uninterrupted sleep experience.
And finally, getting regular breaks outside will improve your immune function and cardiovascular health.

So, whether it’s walking your dog 🐶 , or a school run/walk 🏃🏻‍♀️, or a short walk at lunch time…or better yet – a long walk at the weekend…😉.

Get outside! Ideally during the day…
Even if it’s cloudy and miserable out there…

The benefits of daylight are endless!👍🏻😁
